Kuantan Singingi is one of regencies in Riau Province.Throughout Regency Kuantan Kuantan River Singingi unfolds. In ancient times, Kuansing citizens were using a boat as a means of water transportation. Path is a kind of long boat piloted by being rowed.

as water transportation,the path can carry many passengers about 40-60 people (depending on the size of the track). However, over the development period, the lines appear carved beautifully.

Carvings are carved around selembayung boat, so that path is not only for a water transportation but also as an artistic creation. Those boats are then pitted speed through a race that is Runway boat.

At first Runway Strip is held in the villages around Kuantan River to celebrate the Muslim holy day, like the Birth of the Prophet Muhammad, Eid and the Islamic New Year.

However, after the entry of the Dutch in Indonesia, pacu jalur changed that function to celebrate the anniversary of the Queen Wihelmina.

Runway Strip was not held at the time of the Japanese occupation.

After the Indonesian Independence era, Runaway boat is held again for celebrating the Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Therefore, Runway Strip is always held around August every year.

Pacu jalur has become the official agenda of the Local Government (LG) and has been included in the national tourism calendar. Originally spur line is only celebrated in a religious ceremony, which is the birthday of the prophet of Islam religious event.

However, with the concomitant development, spur lines no longer performed in a religious ceremony.
